Its pretty funny.

Colombia's army is head and shoulders better than Venezuela's. Hugh would get his ass kicked.

Mr Chavez said he would halt the import of 10,000 cars from Colombia and ban a Colombian energy firm from exploring Venezuela's oil-rich Orinoco region.

Why can't Venezuela buy it's own cars or develop it's own resources.. unless Chavez is such a loose cannon that no one will trust him.

Do you have a problem with Canada banning imports from say China? You have often posted that we should not do business with countries that do the things China does.

Why can't they do the same?

Double-standard? Hypocrisy?

The legally elected Chavez is fully allowed to pursue whatever he thinks is best for his country.

You are fully allowed to cry about it. Doesn't make you any less of a hypocrite but you are perfectly OK to do so.

I'm quite sure Chavez lays awake at night worrying about what you think.

Legally elected Chavez can do what he likes but he can't bitch about Columbia not sending him cars or helping him develop his resources when he also calls Columbia a puppet of the running dog Gringo lackeys. Aside from supporting insurgent in Columbia, Chavez should realize that the Columbians don't have to help him if all they get is insults.

You know all about that though..

He isn't. The article said he would halt shipment. Cry all you want about Chavez complaining about US help for insurgents (no precedent there  ) but I doubt you'd accept china setting bases on our border and the US would never allow any major foreign power to do the same.

whats good for the goose ....

I wonder if Chavez will ever manage to piss off another country enough for an actual military response to occur, or if he'll be relegated to the role of the many foolish pseudo- and actual dictators that seem to be perpetually blowing hot air.

Bottom line is Chavez is alienating himself to more and more of his neighbors as he seeks the favor of the soviets. He'll be as alienated as Cuba was and this will all end in bloody war because of the greed of Chavez.

At least he doesn't have the whole president for life thing going for him, as much as it may look like he is pushing for it. I hope and pray the Venezuelans will be able to regain the many rights he has stolen from them.

Ya, you can only support insurgents if your American...

And the only alienation in Latin American there days are those who are friendly with the Americans.

I'm quite happy and I don't stand alone when I denounce the US actions in centeral America during the 1800's. A hell of a lot of things have happened since then.

Bottom line is we can look at countries who are friendly to the west or those like Cuba who are now scrabbling to invent toilet paper. Which ones do you think are more respectful and responsible to their citizen?

Venezuela Still Aids Colombia Rebels, New Material Shows

CARACAS, Venezuela — Despite repeated denials by President Hugo Chávez, Venezuelan officials have continued to assist commanders of Colombia’s largest rebel group, helping them arrange weapons deals in Venezuela and even obtain identity cards to move with ease on Venezuelan soil, according to computer material captured from the rebels in recent months and under review by Western intelligence agencies.
