As I have said before, we got a really shitty government regarding military spending and money sense. They put so much money already into it. Why scrap the project? Other countries were interested in buying and would have seeing how for back then it was top of the line fighter technology.

It would be brought a lot of money into Canada and probally would have sparked more projects and funding and we would today have actually had a modernized military.

I mean look at the Germans. They practicly make the best tanks, armored vehicles, infantry weapons, military sytems, etc. There Army is the best equiped IMO. If they were allowed to and could mass produce there inventions for themselves and have the manpower the U.S. has. They would be the best military in the world. Many countries buy there military products and it brings a lot of money into germany.

A lot of countries spend a lot of money into there militaries and a lot of that goes to buying equipment, vehicles and aircraft. Mostly people buy German goods as they are the best except for the U.S. who makes there own stuff.

Canada could have been participaiting in that market right now. However I doubt anybody would ever want to do a huge project like the Arrow with the Canadian Government ever again.

Oh well, guess you can't always win.

When military vehicles are sold to other countries, the service work and information on how to maintain the equipment isn't always sold with it. The F18 program is a good example, most countries rely on the US to repair their F18 electronics. Canada is one of the few countries that was provided with the correct information to do our own work. Hopefully, if the US loses their interest in doing the service work, Canada might be able to pick up the business.

My point: if it was Canadian technology, then the service work would already be our business.
