$100 fine for not holding the handrail on an escalator??? First I've ever heard of this. Is this a law only in Laval or all of Quebec or all of Canada? Do they have signage stating that failure to comply with holding on will result in a fine?

I'd be surprised if it's a law, sounds more like a regulation. I didn't think you could be fined and handcuffed for breaking a regulation. Glad they've solved all the more serious crime in Quebec.

The offense was something like "The person refused to follow the indications of a pictogram" (that said: hold the handrail).

Although this appears to be a petty arrest, it looks like this chick talked her way, or shouted her way to an arrest and a charge.

In the police world it's called "The attitude test."

She failed.
