$1:
He is barred from entering his workplace, placed on a forced leave of absence, yet he collects $130,400 a year from taxpayers.

...his colleagues told him not to show up for work after the RCMP laid criminal charges against him two years ago for using "Senate resources for personal gain."

"This guy is a disgrace," said Kevin Gaudet, the national director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation."(He) is a poster child of the need for elected senators and accountability in politics."

It wouldn't be fair to deny him his paycheque since he has not been convicted of any crimes, said Liberal Sen. Joan Fraser.

"In this country you are presumed innocent until proven otherwise," she said.

Ahhh, the hippocracy of Liberals.

What's the problem here?

He shows up and does nothing or stays home and does nothing, there really isn't a big difference when it comes to the Canadian Senate.

Although, this guy is living proof that we need Senate Reform big time, so we can get rid of these leeches on Society, who by their political affiliations have landed a plum job that most honest Canadians could only hope for.

I wonder if anyone can argue there isn't a problem with the senate now? If this guy were elected at the very least he would pay for his indiscretions at the next election.

I can appreciate that he shouldn't be removed before he's found guilty but in almost any other business, if you don't do the job, you don't get the money.
This is a prime example that the senate and the justice industry need a big tune up.
