Naw, I doubt it. Something tells me that people who get laid off $60,000 a year jobs aren't going to go work for $12 an hour at Tim Horton's. They'll just collect UI, as it will pay them more (not much but still more) than getting a service industry job. A lot of Tim Horton's, restuarants, gas stations and convenience stores in Edmonton still have Help Wanted signs up.

Isn't it amazing how little ole Saskatchewan is doing so well. We are a province that is not so reliant on energy resources. We just keep plugging along as usual and let the cash and people come on in. BC has the highest cost of living damn near anywhere and Alberta will be bankrupt if it stays the course. Go figure. Just a bunch of stubblejumpers are doing better than the oil barons.

house prices in Saskatchewan were rising faster than Alberta the last few years.

Judging by the looks of the reclamation you guys havent done around Estevan and the big open pit coal mines,this might be a good time for you fine folks to show us oil barons how you get your resources out and forgo the clean up after their gone.

Quite right. Saskatchewan has made a mess of some of its resource base. Estevan and the near-by areas are a mess. Some of the forest areas to the north are a joke. Time to clean up.

Not dependant on oil, then he lists two other natural resources extracted from the ground.

Ag sector in SK has a lot to do with the current situation. Farmers actually have some spending money due to reasonable prices. That hasn't happened before in my lifetime.
