The law won't stand up to the Charter - that's why they've never tried to prosecute. I think this prosecution will fail - like it should.

Let's be clear - multiple wives, who cares.

Issues of sexual exploitation - that's where they should have went with this.

And the irnoy is that those two charges are the ones that would actually get Blackmore serious jailtime. Even if the chrages of polygamy stick, it's not likely to result in any significant jail time.

I'd say time for some changes but these people are fully aware of their choices and freely exploit the charter in Canada. Not the first time people who move here exploit it.

Yeah, but that's a separate issue.

Physical health vs. emotional/mental health. Two different cans of worms there, although I'm sure all groups would use a ruling to create a loop hole for their own benefit.

I'd love to see this stopped though. It's sickening.
