Which shows just how hypocritical Stephen Harper really is, trying to use a "separatist card" when the Bloc supports the NDP/Liberal coalition.

Also confirms the French really do swing both ways.. :)

Andrew Steele writes for the Globe:

$1:
For years, Conservatives of all stripes have denigrated Joe Clark. No one was more scathing in their hatred than Stephen Harper.

And now, Harper's political life rests in his hands.

Today, the Bloc Québécois released a document showing a secret deal between the Canadian Alliance, PC Party and Bloc to form a coalition government.

This undermines the outrage the Conservatives have hurled at a coalition alternative that relies on the Bloc to sustain confidence.

If two parties that included current senior cabinet ministers were open to the exact same type of deal, it can hardly be the end of Canada today.

The original document shows three spots for signature: Canadian Alliance leader Stockwell Day, Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe and PC Party leader Joe Clark.

Day's argument is that he would never do a deal like this, but as it is impossible to prove a negative, the defence rests on the recollection of others.

Clark could say he did not know of the existence of any such deal, and exonerate Day.

But if Clark says any of the current or former members of either the PC Party or the Alliance knew about this deal, it demolishes the credibility of the Harper regime on this issue.

Either Clark could confirm former PCs like Peter McKay knew about the deal, or he could blow the whistle on Day directly.

Amazingly, the survival of the Harper regime rests on a former Conservative Prime Minister for whom he has never shown an ounce of respect.

Only if we're in agreement that the Conservatives are being a bunch of hypocrites.

All the leaders are being retarded at this point.

But the coalitions plan to blindly throw money at auto manufacturers with no financial plan at all is a waste of our tax money. I would rather follow Harper and wait until Februaury so we can hopefully understand the situation better and put our money where it will help the most.

This is a joke.

No signatures, no dates, no details.
Someone wrote this up and it isn't needed for the Globe & Mail to check that becaus ethe story will only last a week.

During that election:
Liberals 172
Alliance 66
Bloc 38
NDP 13
PC 12

What would exactly be the point of an alliance between the Alliance and Bloc?

I think we can agree that all politicians are hypocrites. It's a mandatory requirement for the job ;)

If someone comes forward with a signed agreement between the Bloq and the Alliance that creates a “mechanism of permanent consultation, empowering the Bloc on every question of importance.” then the coalition supporters might have a point but until then this so called agreement everyone keeps pointing to doesn't wash.

Not to mention, was there also any similar agreement to rule the country hand in hand with the separatists for nearly 3 years with out calling an election? Anyone ....... anyone..............

I didn't think so.
