So is this article. DDT ban responsible for 50 million deaths? You'd think that even a reporter from the Sun would have to explain himself on that one. I suppose he's referring to malaria... but as far as I know, a DDT ban in Canada or the US hasn't allowed the rise of malaria in either of those countries. And in Africa, it's up to those countries to weigh the risks of choosing either DDT or an alternative.

To say that 'the substance is harmless' is entirely false.

This guy's an idiot. And 'global warming' is a misnomer. It's called climate change. And regardless of your politics, if you don,t think environmental pollution is a bad thing, you have no credibility. A dog doesn't shit where he eats.

Wrong. Global warming denials are more motivated by politics than anything. Same with evolution denials.

One mill here was let's just say a little on the cheap side, and the welder told them Y2K was complete bullshit. After all I was just a computer tech, what the fuck would I know? I was just trying to hustle them for a shitload of money.
So I did the other 2 mills and took Christmas off, flew to Vancouver.
Didn't answer the phone when they called Jan. 3rd and the mill wouldn't fire up. They had to fly a guy in from Edmonton.

I hope this 'listen to Joe The Plumber, WTF does David Suzuki know' anti-intellectual ignoroid mindset goes out the door when Obama goes in......

For those who think the science behind global warming is based on left-wing politics, you should take a look in the mirror. There is far more politics behind denying global warming.

Please, the politics are on both sides of the aisle. Don't be naive.

Wasn't Suzuki the one who was throwing tantrums in interviews and demanding that deniers be thrown in prison? Science permits contrary views as long as there is reasonable doubt. Only religion demands those with contrary views are silenced.

Has anyone got something new to say? If not, why don't we all go home and read old threads on this topic. I will be happy to read a new argument here, but all this old stuff is ----well---old!

Suzuki is clearly off his rocker, but that doesn't mean that global warming isn't happening. Classic guilt by association.

The global financial crisis, perhaps?

In any case, it's one fucking thing after another. I'm just going to learn how to grow food and build things, and invest in gold. The rest of the world can go to hell. [B-o]
