Good, guys always get screwed :-)

Women always get the better end of this even if it was the woman who started the divorce.

Yeee-haw. I've been waiting for this. I've going to ditch the wife. Well maybe not today, since it's our anniversary, but tomorrow for sure.

Raising kids is a "career" but most people do change careers 2 or 3 times in a lifetime. If your kids are 18 it's time for the housewife to move on to her next career.
No more support....in Alberta finding a good paying job isn't that difficult.

I say well done for the Alberta courts. Women after a divorce need to get off their ass and make their own way in life!!!!! Have some strength, dignity and pride for christs sake. Your divorced from the man, I don't give a crap what you were well married, your not married to him now. YOU choose to be a stay at home mom. You should
both support your children equally. This spousal support is absolute BS. How many men I wonder are stuck in unhappy marriages for this very reason, they can't afford to get out. Talk about gripping a guy by the balls. A job in or outside of the house is your decision , when the chips come down be prepared to live with that!

What ever your saying Lily. I can't see. If it's directed at me , save your finger strength, your opinion is completely irrelevant to me.

I’ve read on average, it’s true that women don’t fair well after a divorce. There’s also others that say that while a women “stayed home” to raise the family, doing so was not protecting the family from financial catastrophe. When staying home to raise the kids, as opposed to staying current to the work force, she was not able to provide for the family if the spouse became unemployed or had passed away. While life insurance could shoulder some of the burden if there was any, most still would have to find some sort of employment. Unemployment or sickness has none of this and would ensure future hardships upon the family.
