The attacks show that the enemies of Afghanistan are changing their tactics. Now they are not thinking about civilians at all," said Nasrullah Stanikzai, a professor of political science at Kabul University.

uhhh.. looks like they are thinking quite a bit about civilians, and the best way to kill them..

So each time the Afghan governor tells NATO to be careful or not to show up in some areas because there might be some Taliban presence (AKA suicide bombers) we should just back off and let them be 8O

Fuck NO..... If we want to eliminate the Taliban, we need to get them where they are. If they are at the border, it’s because they are up to no good. Where do we think they get new ammo and explosives?

I am very sorry that 38 Afghans died in this unprovoked attack. Taliban is getting desperate; let’s get them where it hurts them. Sadly, that means where the cowards are located, among the general population.

If the Afghan government had such good intel then why didn't they act on it?

The military is largely blamless---they were just following an old proven policy---march to the sound of the guns.

The Afghan governor is trying to cover his own sorry ass. According to his logic if a suicide bomber shows up the Coalition should leave town or stay on their bases.

Maybe we should try it one day. With no handy target the bomber may just go visit the Gov?

The Opposition does not care a fiddler's f**k about civilian casualties. Most of them that are conducting these activities are not even Afghan so why would they care? They spin it that way to blame us and naturally, their allies here, miltary geniuses like Jack Layton begin to pound the pulpit about what we should and should not do there. Regrettably, if the Taliban is good enough to tell us where they're at our military forces will go. Freedom of movement is decided by us and not the Taliban... or the friggin governor of Khandahar! They (Taliban) are masters of the information campaign though, as very few media outlets actually coroberate their claims and report them as gospel truth. Whereas, Canadian'NATO actions are closely scrutinized. So, this means that they Taliban can say what they like and the media gobbles it up like a hooker at a logging camp on payday. The truth of corse is quite different but of course, they wouldn't print it, film it, quote it if it wasn't all true right?
