While I commend their ingenuity, 15-25 Km on a single charge won't even get me to work. Plus if I remember correctly the constant draining and recharging of those types of batteries will wear them out faster.

You beat me to that. I was thinking they'd have to wrap heat tape around the batteries.

You ever seen those flash lights that last forever? Because there battery never has to be changed or plugged in? All you have to do is shake the flashlight up and down and it recharges. I don't see why that can't be possible for cars? You just need a bigger sized batter lol. When you start up the car, the things auto recharge the same way giving you unlimited power because its constantly recharging. Setup a system that saves power so when you shut it off, you can start up the car and the recharger next time. If it works, then there goes the end of gas needed for cars. Just start and go for however long you want to go.

It'll never work in Canada. Once winter comes you'll need an engine that generates a certain amount of heat in order to function.

GLOBAL WARMING.

well, hopefully Mother Nature is willing to negotiate and is willing to strike a balance between ice age and inferno. A nice temperature which will allow the engines to run how they're supposed to...Solar!

Actually that battery rechard idea is not all that bad... While it could not generate unlimitted power, we do all know how LOUSY our city streets are, and how bumpy a ride it often produces. Maybe a bunch of those little flashlight charger thingies mounted straight up and down around the car would transform the energy from the bumpy roads into a little extra boost of power for the batteries. I for nothing but on board things like lights and dash... Add some solar panels to the roof, and maybe we add 20% to the range...
