Calgary and Toronto are tied at 4.8, just .3 off of their definition of "severely unaffordable." Edmonton fares only slightly better at 4.3. So much for the "Alberta Advantage."

I have read more than one article in the last few years on how the rising house prices in Alberta are only a market correction. Based on the strength of our economy when you compare it to house prices in other major Canadian cities such as Vancouver where until recently had a much weaker economy but still had highly unafordable housing .

You're just mad because you're 10 years to late and only got a townhouse.

:P

Be patient your time will come.

I thought the economy in Ontario was tanking...funny the house prices never seem to drop so much for the TO advantage..

The most affordable market on the survey was Thunder Bay, which had a median multiple of 1.8.

Thunder Bay.. Brrrr

But look at the rest of the list.. most of it is in the Rust Belt or the

middle of nowhere (like TB :) ) .. prices are low cause there are no jobs..

wouldnt use as a moving guide, but interesting nonetheless

No that was all taken into account in the survey. All the stats were relative to the median income vs. the median cost of housing.
