Perhaps, but maybe we are the isolated instances in terms of schooling. Maybe we were just lucky.

Okay then, if the public schools are such Utopias then what's the advantage of a private school? Why are people paying a few hundred to a few thousand bucks per month to send their kids to private schools?

Because they can afford it, perhaps?

It is general knowledge that Private Schools have better equipment and can focus more on the students than the public system, but that is because the parents pay so much that they can afford to have those things.

That someone else gets better computers and lab equipment and more student-teacher focus? Yeah, a little. But it's not like I got a totally shoddy education and use shit equipment from the stone age.

For the education that I got and the whole high school experience, I'd say that the public school system(here in Ottawa, Ontario at least) did a damn fine job.
