The expected bad weather tonight made me change my plans and decide to stay home instead. i bet there are a few Christmas parties tonight where people cancelled. It just gets annoying when you prepare for the worst and then nothing happens.

Canadians brace for 'massive' winter wallop

I wish they'd stop using phrases like this to describe Ontario and Quebecs weather. By using the term Canadians, it implies that the entire country is bracing for a winter wallop, when it fact it's only parts of Eastern Canada.

When we have a weather phenomonem out here on the coast the national news outlets are quick to say things like BC or western Canada braces for storm, not Canadians brace for storm.

Despite what some Toronto media wogs's seem to think, Ontario and Quebec aren't "Canada". No wonder we still see tourists comming here expecting to see igloos, eskimos and Bonhomme laden winter carnivals............ in the middle of a freakin moonsoon.

All that aside, let's hope that the good people of Ontario, Quebec and Eastern Canada make out better than those poor souls in the US Midwest.

Aside from the 'local' weather channels, I don't know why this is even considered news. This is CANADA, people. We get snow. LOTS OF IT. Every winter. Everywhere east of the Rockies. We all have snow-blowers and snow shovels for a reason. We know we are gonna need them. People don't go out and buy these things expecting never to use them and when the inevitable occurs act surprised!

Its noon here on Darlings Island, NB and the snow has begun. They're calling for anywhere between 15-40 cm for the whole of NB. Could be nasty. I'm staying inside and watching Carnivale and playing gamecube. Nuts to the outside.

Haha. My parents live in the sticks and all of my friends are living in the city. I'm not taking my car out there if it starts to get bad. I'll end up, upside down.

Watching CBC and aside from Coleen all the reporters have noob parka's.
Any parka is good but if the fur on the hood is skimpy and only for looks then you got a noob parka.

More fur the better,I've seen some awesome parkas's the last 4 days, mostly sealskin and wolverine and all handmade. Awesome.

Yup, I've been watching the snow on my fire escape grow since this morning, its at about two feet now.
I went for a walk to the store, the roads are ok, the sidewalks arent. But the plows are out.

I wonder if half the public service will call in "snow day" tomorrow..... pussies.

I'm snowbound here in Gatineau (just north of Ottawa). I have shoveled twice and it is time to head out again. At one point this morning, I put down the flat shovel in favor of the plow shovel. When I went back to get it, it was buried in fresh snow. Yes it is snowing that hard! [cold]
