Suspect was 16 years old. His mother was also in the suite, and was taken to hospital in critical condition. The officers didn't have time to pull their guns.

Total ambush.

Lots of unanswered questions in this case, especially around the weapon involved.

This is why there is generally a big turnout for policing calls as even the back-up has back-up because they never know what they may have to deal with. Just the reality of where we're at these days.

Teen who killed 2 Edmonton officers also shot Pizza Hut employee: sources

Multiple sources have now confirmed the boy is also responsible for a shooting early Sunday morning that left a 55-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

A shooter walked into the Pizza Hut at 114 Avenue and 132 Street around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, and shot the employee.

Thought they might be related, as the Pizza Hut is right across the street.
