It's not like Canada doesn't have some amazing bridge building firms. This one meets California's stringent seismic standards and there's a shitload of their bridges around the state.

Now that geotechnical review doesn't look so expensive, compared to fixing the problem, hmmmm?

As the saying goes, "if you don't have the budget to do it right, how will you find the budget to do it over?"

I did the math and it comes out to 1 vehicle crossing the bridge every 8.76 hours. So saying that it could have easily killed somebody is somewhat of an exaggeration.

When you grow up driving the same gravel road over and over, you tend to start covering it at a quicker pace. Start drifting all the corners. Getting a little air over correction lines...
