Again, we see the tactics, which I agree are not diplomatic in the traditional sense but which is popular in the U.S because of the state of the nation. Like debt and bad trade deals, there are long term consequences to bad policies.

One of my friends who is still 'in' thinks the 'threat' of sending special forces to deal with the cartels was actually an offer and that certain units have been spinning up to provide that assistance. Apparently the Mexican regime is tottering on the edge of collapse outside of the Federal District and they may need the help.
