In other words we're done for.

Tough to compete in the free market, when we smile in the face of foreign businesses and undermine them when they operate in Canada. The irony of this is, our ambitions to centralize and control the economy is now backfiring as we have unfit and ill qualified management in companies that should be hiring the best to compete and expand.

Ontario will be the province hit hardest if NAFTA is renegotiated, this much is certain, Quebec a close second.

Here's a broader group of guesses on what's up for Canada under Trump.

What the election of Donald Trump means for Justin Trudeau.

I read this before, it is light on details and doesn't go nearly far enough as to how we will be impacted. Trump is taking a protectionist stance, he was elected on this stance and "America First" attitude. He will be focusing on using the best negotiators to the benefit and interests of his own country, leverage any advantages and concerns, as he should.

I know I will be doing my part to reach out to his administration as I did with Mr. Obama's and the E.U to voice the reality some of us have experienced. I want free markets to reign, and government to abide by their agreement(s), even if that country is Canada which is breaking the rules (which we have been). We don't really have a rosy reputation and any violations and tactics will be magnified in his administration.

Great another crayola manifesto the nurses on his ward can add to their collection, along with his letters to Churchill, Stalin, Jesus of Nazareth, Adam Smith and John F. Kennedy. He's sure had a busy week.

I picture him as that old guy in the compound in Road Warrior dressed up like George Patton and carrying a samurai sword who wanted to negotiate with the bad guys outside. Now this Lord Humongous from the top floor of Trump Tower, he seems like a reasonable fella.......
