I'm sorry for what happened to the girl but what was needed in her place after the sexual assault was loving parenting and sincere action against her attackers...which was sorely lacking.

True. But I grew up with bullying and I was bullied as a kid by both other kids and school faculty. It was part of what drove me into the Corps was wanting to learn how to deal with assholes.

When one of the kids at my church was being savagely bullied his father came to me and had me teach the kid a variety of fighting techniques. After the kid handily beat the shit out of some of his tormentors the torment stopped.

The kid is now attending West Point and I couldn't be more proud of him if he were my own.

In any case, that's what you do is equip the kid to deal with the problem because the schools and authorities are as useless as tits on a bull when it comes to actually dealing with bullies.

I'm intolerant of bullies. Even snarky effeminate PC bullies or bullies who wear shiny things on their chests or those who bow and pray five times a day.

I guess I'm old to because, the whole concept of cyber bullying boggles my mind.

If some assholes is bothering you online there's a simple solution to the problem. Unplug the fucking computer, turn off the IPad and IPhone because if you aren't online you aren't going to be attacked. It's only common sense and after a period of time your bully will move on and find another victim. Or, if you just can't live without the OMG social network, find a hacker or become one yourself and return the favour in spades.


But, to be honest the biggest problem might not be what we're assuming it is. The social network addiction is far more pervasive than the cyber bullying one and if we can get these people to look up from their smart phones, tablets and computer even for a small part of the day, the whole problem will eventually become moot.

Then the whole mess just makes a pretty good argument for home schooling. I don't see any defensible reason why some poor kid has to be subjected to this shit and have no other recourse than suicide.
