Just another reason why we can seldom establish guilt 100%. Can't rely on eyewitness memory, or even the memory of the accused, ie false confessions.

Agreed. The number of false confessions that are tied to the use of sleep deprivation as an interrogation technique are pretty impressive.

I suppose the one thing to remember is that in ANY conversation with law enforcement one should remember that these people ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. They want to get an arrest and a conviction as if law enforcement is some damned sport where there's a trophy for getting the highest score.

If they can't close up a case without falsely accusing someone then too many law enforcement and too many prosecutors will go after the poor schlup who happens to be convenient.

"Gone Girl", for instance, did well in the theatres because it resonated with audiences.

There's a reason for this. :idea:
