It's good to see there are some parents out there who actualy show some common sense when it comes to their kids being allowed to play without being wrapped in bubble wrap!

The people going after kids outdoor games are the same people who are shocked at children obesity levels. They want kids fit and active but not dirty or scrapped up. It's all a part of being a kid they get dirty and sometimes bloody.

Sure glad mine are grown and I don't have to deal with this crap anymore

Why put a stop to playing tag?

Everyone knows that hopscotch is the real playground-child-killer game. And don't get me started on the dangers of jacks...

Yeesh.

The sad thing is, all this bubble wrapping of kids is causing them to have little to no risk assessment skills when they get older. Those skills cannot be taught at all, they have to be learned through experience. And surprise surprise, some of those games us older folks played as kids, were a part of that learning process.
Just like the play of wild animals when they are young is a way of learning survival skills, so was some of our play as kids.

Some schools ban chasing games in Britain too. Children can't even play conkers now without having to wear safety goggles.

And if kids do play tag on the school playground, any boy who tags a girl is immediately hauled up in front of the courts on charges of sexual asaault or "invading the personal space of a woman."

So make the parents sign a waiver indemnifying the school for any harm the kids come to. Because you know sure as shit as soon as little Susie gets an owie playing tag the school will be sued for gross negligence, causing severe trauma to the poor darling and loss of future earnings and enjoyment of life due to said trauma. That's the only reason schools do this shit - sue happy parents. Parents who also don't want to pay more taxes for the school to be able to properly insure itself against sue happy parents, nor being able to find teaches willing to be dragged thru the courts because they weren't following little Susie around every minute to make sure she's OK. We all back in the day if we got hurt we were given a band aid and told to go play again. If we got hurt bad enough to need a doctor we caught shit for being an idiot and causing the parent the trouble and expense of having to take us to the doc. Times change.

I see Nenshi has cut the balls off Calgary. If they all wore purple and kissed each other the games would probably be approved.

scoreless soccer hockey with no checking...nation of pussies.

Is someone keeping track?

- No dodge ball ( actually as I recall some school around Toronto a few years back) no balls.
- No Tag
- No activities at camps (even though more kids die in school shootings than at organized kids camps)
- No Peanut Butter
- No shellfish
- No religious stuff of any kind
- No Failing
- No Christmas (Halloween is just fine but don't dress scary or like a witch)
- No Walking to school alone
- No giving someone a dirty look (its bullying)
- I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot more. Please add
