Someone made a good point to me today. Lets compare the number of kids killed at school over the past five years compared to the number killed at summer camps in North America. I'd wager more have died in school therefore schools should not allow kids since it's too high a risk they might get hurt of killed.

Morbid comparison but not lacking some logical merit.

Far more will die going to and from school, too and from camp that at either destination.

This "living" thing is inherently risky and none of us get out of it alive.

I don't rely on the schools to do anything except teach the kids how to read, write and arithmetic. I wonuldn't mind if theyb tuaght then how to splel either.

My kid has had close encounters with rattlesnakes, black widows and bears and he's not 11 yet. Don't mention to his mother though. It's a bit of a sore point.
