Probably a good idea. Sugar and starches are more likely to raise cholesterol levels than fats will. And there are some fats the body needs for enzymes that it can't produce itself.

I don't each much meat, but lots of veggies. I still have bacon for breakfast Sundays, and my LDL cholesterol is well below the average populations levels and they were frighteningly high only a few years ago when delivered pizza was a staple food for me.

Bacon drippings and molasses eaten with fresh bread is the best thing ever!

Trans fats and hydrogenated vegetable oils still aren`t off the hook.....lard and butter are. Who here remembers when you got fries fried in beef tallow or chicken fat? [drool] Enjoy the flavour, but cut back on the portion size.

It still sounds like saturated fats aren't very good for you, but based on the other comments in the article, the old saw "the best diet is a balanced one" still seems to hold true.
