The last "line in the sand" turned out to be only that. It's not as if there is a lot that Obama can do there, anyway. Now, if that were Latvia that they were moving on, rather than Crimea we would all be involved, our treaty kicks in and we are officially at war with Russia.

Russian troops are already deployed throughout Crimea. Now Putin makes a show of it. Will it end with Crimea or is eastern Ukraine next up? Obama might want to give his costs speech again, obviously Putin didn't hear him!

Whether or not this is an invasion, depends on how you define "invasion". The movement of thousands of Russian troops into Ukraine obviously must not fit the commonly accepted definition.

Yes. That seems apparent. However, after the vote this morning in Russia, I'm eager to see western reaction. If it moves from 'concern' to 'worry' then yes, without a doubt Ukraine, enjoy your knew Russian overlords.

Today it seems all parties are publicly confirming that the Russian Federation is in complete control of Crimea.

Putin's defiance of warnings from the western powers has resulted in yet more warnings from said powers. Obama is saying he might even skip the G8 summit in Russia this year.

That'll show 'em!
