$1:
The girls parents agreed to let her perform the jump, but her father, Joe Wethington, now says the skydiving company shouldnt have allowed it.

I dont think she should have been allowed at 16 to go up there and perform that type of jump, no matter what I say or she says, she shouldnt have been allowed, Joe Wethington said at the news conference. I find it very hard to believe that the rules and regulations in Oklahoma are that lax. I think there is a flaw there somewhere, and I dont think its through the state of Oklahoma. I think its the company. Im not sure.

So basically, he made a poor choice as a parent, so it is their fault they didn't say no?

The story is a bit of hype, I'm afraid. Upon reading it you find that the parachute malfunctioned but it still deployed. It's not like she fell a kilometer without a parachute, she just had a hard landing is all.

I'm sure the company had the sign all sorts of waivers so they are probably OK but it is the Cos responsibility too just because a parent signed it doesn't mean you go ahead with something unsafe.

We use to do self drive off road trips and many a times I have stopped the vehicle and pulled out paying clients before they were not following instructions or safety regulations. So CO running the show also has responsibility to ensure safety as well, although I'm sure 100s if not 1000s of 16 yr olds jump all the time without any issue.

Any establishment worth its salt with investigate the matter itself to see if any corners were cut.

Now this came close to being a tragedy
