Nevertheless, Sun's son David Zhao wants McDonald's to take action by hiring Mandarin speakers at local restaurants.

That's right, the entire world has to change to accomodate your lazy ass mom. Maybe she should take a class?

Probably a smart business move to hire a mandarin speaker in that area, but it is a business decision and i would hope no human rights tribunal get involved. Wouldn't surprise me if they did though, the word discrimination is like blood in the water for those folks.

"This is my second language right. And this is discrimination. Yes maybe I speak not very good English but she can't not service to us."

There is no such thing as second language right - businesses don't even have to offer service in both official languages, nevermind Mandarin.

Second, any business can refuse service to anyone.

We've also had serious proposals to make Mandarin and Punjabi official languages, so then he would be talking about first language rights.

Funny, there's a fuss in Richmond about stores having signs and service in Mandarin only. To complain about that is deemed racist. Yet switch roles, and it's the store that's being racist now. Just goes to show, only white people can be racist.

I want a Dutch McDucks. Oh wait, no I don't.

Sweetie, there are ESL classes you can take FOR FREE. THAT is your right. My advice? Do it :)

$1:
"In Richmond, how come they don't hire a person who can communicate in Mandarin. All right? That's not a big deal," said Zhao.

I think you just found your new job...

The same restaurant will need Mandarin/Punjabi/Farsi/Portuguese speaking counter people.

Think: Lingua Franca

Something fishy here. First of all, I highly doubt there is a sionlge business in Richmond that doesn't have someone on staff that speaks Mandarin. Richmond is probably 80% Chinese. There are malls in Richmond where you'd have trouble getting anything unless you speak Mandarin.

I wonder what she does when she goes into the corner convience store and orders a Baby Ruth candy bar. ROTFL

Just another hot coffee spiller using a different language and modus operendi to go after a big corporation.

If she can't speak English she should return to China and get an education because about 80% of that country can speak English better than some of our supposedly educated locals.
