$1:
Many of the old guard will remain, especially in the economic portfolios. Jim Flaherty will retain the pivotal role of Finance Minister, Ed Fast stays in Trade, Joe Oliver keeps Natural Resources and Tony Clement does not move from the Treasury Board.

Can't breathe new life into something when the one doing the breathing is the disease doing the killing.

Conservative MP laments leaving cabinet without a sex scandal
$1:
On Monday, with Ottawa abuzz over changes to the federal cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, one Conservative Member of Parliament not continuing in that august body had the sense of humour to joke about rejoining the backbenches.

On his Twitter page, Winnipeg MP Steven Fletcher declared himself a traditionalist who wishes he had “left Cabinet in the traditional way — with a sex scandal!”

My local MP.... Demoted.

Cabinet shuffle ain't going to do diddly unless other things change.

There's hardly a public profile for any but a few ministers anyway (Flaherty, Clement, McKay). Most of them are nobodies and have little to do with public perception of the government.

Candice Bergen, who was the government’s lead voice in the dismantling of the gun registry

She's got a new name, but she's been in the spotlight a fair bit.
