Just out for a walk after an early stack

Not looking for trouble not watching my back

Mothers with prams holding hands with their kids

Not paying attention to the car as it skids

Caught completely off guard not expecting what comes

One man with a knife another with guns.

No chance of defence no chance to fight back

Looking for help as the cowards attack

An angel arrives as the light turns to grey

A woman attempts to steer attackers away

My last thought of ‘Thank You’ never strays from my brain

As my body shuts down and I feel no more pain.

I look to my left and I look to my right

Thousands of squaddies are all that’s in sight

Uniforms are crisp and their faces are clean

No sign of anger or hate to be seen

As if by command they salute all as one

The RSM smiles, says ‘Welcome home son’.

Hopefully the last act he was aware of was the act of compassion from this stranger and not the violence inflicted upon him

Takes a special kind of person to risk their own life to try and save another.

Except when the Germans or the French or the Spanish or the Dutch or the Vikings are trying to invade. Then the stupid Brits wonder why they were stupid enough to disarm themselves.

Naturally, once the threat is past they eventually disarm themselves again so they can get caught with their pants down once again.

Lee Rigby to be named on Armed Forces Memorial

$1:
Murdered soldier Lee Rigby's name is to be included on a national memorial to fallen servicemen and women.

The 25-year-old was killed in Woolwich, London last week, close to the barracks where his regiment the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, is based.

Two suspects shot by armed police remain under guard in hospital.

Armed Forces Memorial trustees said Fusilier Rigby's name would be engraved alongside others killed in 2013, at the National Memorial Arboretum.

The memorial, at the Alrewas site in Staffordshire, commemorates members of the armed services killed while on duty or through terrorist action.
Drummer Lee Rigby Drummer Lee Rigby was known as "Riggers" to his friends

In a statement the trustees, who are responsible for making decisions regarding the inclusion of names, said the work would be completed by mid 2014, in time for the annual service of dedication.

They said the families of those killed would be invited to attend, usually alongside a member of the Royal Family and senior members of the government and armed services.

Dedicated in 2007, the Armed Forces Memorial, is a tribute to the more than 16,000 servicemen and women who have died in action since 1948.

Last month, the names of the 53 personnel killed in 2012 were engraved on the memorial, with a service for families planned for later in the year.

Our women are better looking, our food is better, and our finances are sounder. There's nothing left there that we want ;)

N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog:
The cops should have been armed though, then we wouldn't be arguing about 6 minutes.

Although...maybe a better thing would have been if law abiding permit holders of the citizenry of Woolwich were armed the bobbies might only have been necessary to clean the refuse of dead radical off the street, and supply a bandaid for the neck of Drummer Rigby, who would, of course, have thanked them in polite English, then gone home to his two year old son, who is instead now sitting at home asking Mommy "Where's Daddy?".

Apparently, the 'general duties'/'beat' cops don't want to be armed.

Guns for all citizens!
The time has come!

Britain just lost the final grain of its innocence.

'Paying attention' and 'not being caught off guard' are now 'mandatory' for the survival of all citizens.
