Lazy kids, lazy parents...lazy canucks.

Your own brand of laziness shines through when the best you can produce is this emotive nonsense.

Lots of weirdos and attempted abductions reported in the Okanagan every year. Call me paranoid, my kids will get exercise elsewhere.

Didn't have the weirdos in rural SK when I was growing up. Not THAT kind of weirdo anyway...

Venianocculitis - that condition where the subject's optic nerve crosses with the rectal nerve, resulting in a shitty outlook on life.

My kid walks to the school bus stop which is about as far as I walked to school. Both have PE daily. Elementary AND high school.

As it stands it's just another foreigner standing at the window and wishing he could buy then saying how much he hates the product when he can't.

20-30-40 years ago there wasn't an epidemic of pedophiles out of their minds on internet kiddie porn the way there is today. Until that changes it's better to be safe than sorry. All those evil bastards need is a few seconds when a child is alone or if a parent is being inattentive and then some family's got a horror story happening to them.

Wouldn't surprise me. My mother died 7 years ago I'm sure Ray doesn't have "warm" as a requirement.

Is pedophilia really more of a problem now? Or are we just more aware of it?

Authorities are fairly consistent in saying that the whole abducted and abused by strangers horror that we worry about the most is actually incredibly rare. Kids are much much more likely to be victims of a relative than a stranger. And that, I think, is why it seems more prevalent today. People are much less likely to let Uncle Creepy get away with it now, and they're much more likely to bring the justice system into it, rather than just telling the kids to stay away from Uncle creepy.

Hard to blame parents when you are blasted 24/7 by cable news looking to make a buck on little Suzy being snatched upon while walking home, gang raped for days, then killed off. Oh, and don't forget the trial.
