Yeah. It's not as close as I thought it would be.

Interesting things as well. The first openly lesbian senator has been elected from Wisconsin. Marijuana prohibition is over on Washington state and Colorado. And marriage equality has been passed by popular referendum in a few states as well. America isn't as dysfunctional as we think it is.

Hardly a ringing endorsement.

C'est la vie, soon enough the US will have to deal with debt levels
that will make Greece look like a Sunday stroll.

And we live right next door.

No I thought it would be much closer as well.
Demographics in the US have changed, already people are splitting
themselves along racial lines in the elections.'

That will sadly continue.

Romney never had a chance and didn't help himself any by being so blatantly dishonest.

It was not nearly as close as I thought it would be.

I'm slightly relieved at the result though. Romney was a more frightening prospect as President than Obama continuing on IMO.

We shall see what happens now.

Obama's speech was certainly full of all the "proper" things to say. Blah blah blah. Reaffirmed that politicians are all alike, regardless of which end of the spectrum they are on.

too bad, I wanted Romney. Americans need a good kick in the pants.

But this result is worth is just to see all the tighty righties on this forum do this:

Apparently many Republicons are threatening to move to Canada after Obama's victory. Boy are they in for a shock. Is there no way to keep that riff raff out? I know, let's build a big fence.

Meh. We were hearing the same thing from the other side when Bush got his second term.
