US Drug companies are always interested in price fixing, free enterprise ends at the door. If drugs are fake then that is something else, but they do love their price gouging.
And it should be noted that the US Medicare prescription plan prevents Medicare from negotiating on price for prescriptions.
There are 50 million US seniors on Medicare which would constitute one of the world's largest markets for prescriptions and should give the government enormous scale in purchasing power. But, no, there are no social programs in the US where private industry isn't allowed to skim a huge amount as the middleman.
Not a free market approach at all.
