It is things like this that really make Israel's point about how much you can trust these people.

Hopefully the individuals who write about these "heroic people" just represent the lunatic fringe of their society.

Should have read the article GT.

Mahmoud Abbas on Oudeh:
"What a wonderful brother, companion, tough and stubborn, relentless fighter."

"President Mahmoud Abbas sent a telegram of condolences yesterday over the death of the great fighter Muhammad Daoud Oudeh, 'Abu Daoud,' who died just before reaching 70. The telegram of condolences read: 'The deceased was one of the prominent leaders of the Fatah movement

That comes straight from the head of the PA, who also laid a wreath at his funeral.

Lunatics.. definitely.. but at the top of the government.

On the flipside, why does there need to be this moment of silence?

It's the 40 year anniversary - and given the schedule of the Olympics, they won't be a 50th.

I hope the Olympics doesn't turn out to be something like the UN as something of good and noble intentions turned into something so PC Mutated that it becomes a sad joke of what it once was.

Wow. The Palestinian Authority must use the same PR people as PETA.

I'm weary of all these this watch and that watch websites mainly nothing but false propaganda and experts and making a mountain out of a mole hill. ( memri, jihadwatch etc etc ), anyways it was the IOC's decision not to do it not the PA's.

On the flip side as expected many are calling the IOC and London 2012 as anti semitic and anti Israel

They could have held a moment of silence for ALL Olympians who have died as an Olympian. That way, you take the politics out of it. I remember a luger died during the Vancouver games. I am sure there are many more.

I would have preferred it over Paul McCartney...

The PA's reasoning was that "Sports are meant for peace, not for racism."

Guess he doesn't think remembering the most violent time in Olympic history would promote peace.
