And you could say the same about jailbreaking on the IOS. However, there is a tradeoff in stability, support and security.

I don't own an iPhone or Blackberry.
As the owner of a tech company the last thing I need is jerks texting and calling and expecting me to answer right away.
Leave a message with reception. If I think I can make money off it, I will call you back. If you're expect a return call to tell you if we have Brother LC51 black ink in stock, go fuck yourself. Do you call Safeway and ask if they have bananas? No. Then use your fucking brain and your feet and stuff that Blackberry up your ass.

Rooting Android is easy, and Google doesn't give a shit. Jailbreaking the iPhone is a pain in the ass, and Apple tried to make it illegal.

I'll take Google.

It is if it becomes a propriety issue with the carrier (ie tethering) if they don't want to do an over the air software push you don't get the update. Whereas with iOS 3 devices are not locked out from devs as long as the phones hardware can support the app.

How is this different from Verizon blocking iPhone tethering?

Verizon block tethering iPhone jailbreak users
$1:
According to a report, telecommunication company, Verizon is blocking mobile hotspot tethering for iPhone jailbreak owners who use apps such as the MyWi to break the access of the carrier’s data plans.

My phone has this built right in to the OS, so I don't understand why anyone needs an app to do this. I can do USB tethering, or activate the 'personal wifi hotspot', so I can share my 3G with up to 5 wifi devices without needing any app. If your carrier blocks something like this, you can install 3rd party OS. Oh right, you can't do that with an iPhone, only Android.

1Peg 1Peg:
I've had a BB Bold 9780 OS6 for the past 6 months and got an iPhone 4(white with white otterbox ) 32Gig for fathers day..... The BB can't even be compared, it's not in the same league as the iPhone 4... Touch screen all the way... Angry Birds....I luv you!

The I-Phone is great for storing multiple photo folders that are easy to access, the I-Pod feature I don't really use it as I use my I-Pod for music, videos and movies but at least it's there and it's great for surfing the net which is why I'll never get an I-Pad because essentially it's a giant I-Phone / I-Pod touch..

I'm becoming more familiar with typing on it it takes a while and I've discovered an easy way to get ring tones without having to create and edit them with garage band..

I go to crackberry.com download a ring tone convert it then copy it in I-Tunes, sync it with my I-Phone and it's done..

The only thing that sucks about the I-Phone is battery life, one solution is turning off all push notifications but then you can't receive up to date emails, you also can't customize fonts, ring tones for emails, little things like that where as with the BlackBerry you can..

If I'm travelling the BlackBerry is my companion, the battery life is more reliable and it's more durable..

Which is strange as I can get 8 hours of constant use out of my Macbook Pro without a recharge...

That is the largest downside to my HTC Desire HD. The phone will last about 4 hours with constant use, and will go maybe double that on casual use. It's gotten to the point where have gotten in the habit of plugging it in the charger when Im not using it.
