I love people past 85. If they stay in good shape (which most of them do to reach that age) I don't mind paying at all because they offer sound wisdom and good advice. Our seniors are vastly undervalued IMO. We kind of treat anyone with grey hair with a bit of contempt rather then respect.

It's a pity. Our society kind of treats the old like delinquents.

So THAT'S where break-dancing originated XD

Noooo. 'break dancing' got it's start when a Peurto Rican tried to steal a hubcap off a moving car!

Well the photographic evidence says different Image

FAST FOOD; One attorney here in the states made the statement the Fast Food makes their food so good to eat that people get hooked.
Well, news for him, your dear ole granny and your mom did the same thing.

To cure the fast food habit, you simply Waltz your chubby little bottom past the door. Pass goal and do not collect your burger and fries.

Maybe the GOV. could post a gov-a-ment guard at the door and not let you enter?

The cigaratte companies deserve whatever lawsuit comes there way. There product is only good for one thing and that is slowly killing people. What is exactly the point in picking them up in the first place? The information about smoking however has been out for a long time, the fact shes addicted and has health issues is her own fault.

Hey, you always have choice, they are not killing you, you kill yourself with it.

Same goes for a lot of stuff we buy and do. As long as there is a market, people will produce and sell it.

Too much common sense:
Impose the tobacco tax at the grower level. Nobody can escape it, Indians included (unless they grow it on their own land, which they don't have enough of).
You like your 'free enterprise', 'no nanny state' rules? Then STFU and let people sue tobacco companies, it's a cost of doing business.
The flavored cigar & small package ban is retarded. I've been trying to quit over 20 years and now I have to buy 20 at a time. No more one cigar to get over a rough spot. Nineteen left going 'smoke me, smoke me'...
Make the damn tobacco companies include coupons for stop smoking aids with every sale. With every carton, you get enough coupons for a week worth of patches or gum.
REGULATE the damn aids! The patch won't stick to half the people who try it. I keep thinking 'I hope the fuck that these guys don't make the birth control patch', when I find today's has detached and slid down into my socks.
Make everyone who sells smokes sell patches, gum, etc in open displays, so you SEE them. In BC tobacco must be hidden. Give the cessation aids prominence.
Follow Australia. Plain brown wrappers with 10 point stock numbers you have to cross-check on an MSDS sheet to find out what bloody brand they are.

Now that's a good one. Apparently the warnings we put on cigs actually make some people smoke more - look how brave I am defying death. The only warning that seems to work is the one about the limp willy. But boring brown packages - that's the way to go.

And next thing you know, the Nazis will take over, I know. But you've got to give it to them, they were big on physical culture, not a bunch of lard buckets like the Americans who had grannies and moms who added sugar and fat to everything.

Sorry my friend, mayhaps that hair-DO of yours is causing reasoning problems?

Am a 71 year old, have been out in 87 degree temps with 80% humidity, working since 8:30 a.m.
72 degrees at 7:00 a.m.
Only ten pounds over weight and the Doc says the diabetes causes the weight thing.
Average 6/7 hours a day outside doing physical labour. Just a typical day.
Just in for a few minutes to get out of the sun. Tilling, hot work.
We smoked and drank as a youth. But, quit both years ago. Smoking was harder than the drink.
But, managed both nicely and never looked back.
Seriously pray you and yours are as healthy as I. In the end your health is all that is
really important.

Well good for you - some of your countrymen seem to have wee bit of a problem in that regard,

And why do you keep mixing up private lawsuits against a publicly held company with govt intervention? (Both in fast food and tobacco cases). This is capitalism at it's best, totally unregulated by govt, no? Or do you teabaggers just bitch about government regulation no matter what the topic, as long as they keep their hands off your Medicare?

You're lucky to be alive if your doc says that...

Hey ASLPlease; Nice to meet Ya'lll. See you list your occupation as a Dad. That is a very tough job indeed.
But, the rewards are worth it.
Raised two boys and a girl.
Two boys smoked. Youngest quit. Oldest is still at it.
Oldest and daughter are slim and trim. The postal worker is a tad on the heavy side. But, at six foot he wears it well.
Grandkids are all lean and healthy.
So, no, all us southern folks are not chubby as andy enjoys claiming. We eat from our own table and garden or at decents family eateries.
Oh yes, am not a tea-party type. Not a joiner. Number of friends are. Being a states rights (provincial) person must be a no-no up ya'llls way. Can't believe that all there are mothers milk people?
