Akhenaten Akhenaten:
How high do you think that's going to get by the time parliament re-opens?

It's hard to say.. Exponential growth is funny like that. It's already more people than Harper, Iggy, or Layton have combined on their pages.

From the discussions there, it seems like shutting down parliament was more of a tipping point than the focus of the group. It gets people talking about politics who would otherwise be talking about the world juniors or some stupid thing. It's very refreshing.

Well, I'd believe you, except for the fact that you've never posted a counter-argument in your life.

The Facebook page if nothing else shows a nerve has been hit, and the latest poll confirms it.

I had a much more relevant display of dissatisfaction from a lifelong Conservative. My 91 year old father in law has never voted anything but Conservative and it never mattered to him who was running or what version of the party was active at the time. He was the last holdout in our extended family who had renounced Harpers government. He’s now said no more. In his words the Afghanistan enquiry should have been resolved and proroguing Parliament was cowardly.

The entire 17 voting members of my family are now looking for a new place to put our votes. That’s 17 votes in three provinces that the Cons have lost now.

Not much doubt Harper put his foot in it this time.

Great way to pool thousands of Canadians completely out of touch with what the rest of Canada actually cares about.

Quit bitching and moaning about shit Harper's done and that everyone else has done in the past and actually start to produce some sort of platform, actually.....just get Iggy to take a stance on anything.

I'm a liberal and I support prorogation.

It will effectively kill plenty off conservative bills. They'll have to start from scratch.

Good. Fuck 'em. Never liked the crime bill anyways.

When Westmanguy started this facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=canad ... 2301043..1, the cons here couldn't stop crowing about how this was proof positive the country was against a coalition government.

Now suddenly facebook is a bunch of teens and falsified users.

Which crime bill? There was a few. They'll just reintroduce them with the newly stacked senate. Now we have to hope Iggy will vote against them.

Iggy voted for the Crime Bill. The unelected senate took out major parts. we have discussed all this many times before.

Steve killed them himself when he called in sick. When they are reintroduced, we have to make sure Iggy doesn't vote for them.

Did you have a point to make, or did you just feel like posting something?

Yap yap yap.....

You fail to see any points except your own. We discussed this to death.

When Harper appoints new Tory Senators for the next session, the Bill that Liberal MP's voted for can't be obstructed by Liberal Senators any longer.

Hence the prorogue. Yawn.

Now run along and yap at somebody else.

So what exactly are you disagreeing with? The cons will reintroduce the bill. They have a minority. We put pressure on our MP's to vote against it. Minority government's bill fails without support from the opposition.

I spoke with Anita Neville about this at the Winnipeg rally organization meeting this morning. She assures me that the Liberal party is hearing that message from its members. Sadly, she is the only MP who showed up. I'll bet she was surprised to find that nobody in the room was a big fan of the Liberal party either.

Now run along and find something to yap about.
