Still, it is her word against his not knowing (or claim thereof).

His coworkers had just sent him home because he was all whacked on scooby snacks. Adds some validity to his claim.
Could be that the babysitter also realized he was messed up, making it easier to accept the apology.
This is a guy previously known as mister dudly do right, and pillar of the community. Spotless record/history and all that.
I think this weighed on the courts decision more than any celeberity status as some have suggested.

You know whats strange about this Yogi, if he would have done this to his secretary at work he would have lost his job.

You sure got that right AR. Unless of course 'he' was 'an important person or a 'celebrity'!

Brenda Brenda:
Its kinda hard to fire your boss, isnt it. It was HER boss. If he did this to his secretary of his own company, and if she would press charges, she would lose her job, and his business would still exist.

Still, it is her word against his not knowing (or claim thereof).

Your out to lunch Brenda, I personally know 3 guys that lost their jobs and didn't even touch the women. One guy was the GM of a summer resort, at the Monday morning staff meetings, he always asked the 20 year old summer student, office assistant if she got lucky over the weekend. She went to the President of the B of D's to complain of sexual harassment and he was toast. All 3 of these guys where fired for just what they said to the women. But they were also saying in front of witnesses.

Did you even READ what I said? This is not about some guy working for a boss, he IS the boss, which makes your statement TOTALLY off topic.

Don't attack me for your own stupidty.

Just for your info, I do not care if this was a "celebrity" or not. I never heard of the guy.

Yeah, I agree with that. I think tho, that it is hard to show genuine remourse for something you don't know anything about...
I do think that when he was told he did that he was totally ashamed and shocked, but I would keep wondering if it were true... I don't know, he knows her best, and I guess he takes her word for it.

I agree with you that it is sad...

I'm not a big one for conspiracy BS or anything but this smells weird. I say one of the top coaches from the CFL gets nailed for Sexual Assault. Months go by and all of a sudden over a weekend an absolute discharge is reached with the agreement of both crown and defense and the victim does not want to make an impact statement. Wonder how much Eric legal defence and payoffs were, oops, did I think that out loud??? BTW all the people out there that think that this wouldn't make it to the cops if he wasn't famous, go to you 16 year old babysitter and press your crotch against her ass and see how she likes it....

My whole issue is the fact that charges must have been laid against him, hence someone went to the police, the police investigated and built a case strong enough to take to court, they all actually went in front of a judge, all for this guy to get off with an apology which wouldn't be an option for me if I came home whacked out and rubbed my crotch against the babysitters ass (which is indeed sexual assault, despite what some seem to think)
So, if an apology was all she wanted, or all her family wanted then it should have been asked for through lawyers prior to any involvement with police/courts and then this whole fiascoe could have been swept under the rug and no one the wiser until the next time he grabs and presses his crotch against a teenage girl.
