No. This is the beginning of the end of Harper's divide and conquer politics, and not a day too soon.

Harper divide and conquer?

are you taking plays from the liberal play book?

The Torys have less seats and less votes then the other three parties. If they had a majority then they could have done what they want.

To bad, no majority - then you take your chances that you don;t have power.

Souhaitez-vous la mise en place d'un gouvernement de coalition à Ottawa?

58% of Quebecers are in favour of a coalition

so?

and less than 30% of Canadians like Dildo and his lieberal party. Remember the election?

This could actually be a good thing. We can watch the coalition under dumbfuck Dion screw Canada up and tax us into the stone age. And just when we can't take it anymore we'll have an election and Harper or the next Con leader will take a majority. We are down, but definitely not out.

Less then 50% of them like the Torys - thought you were for democracy...or would you rather a goverment of unelected people?

Harper was a fool to throw down the gauntlet the way he did. He's retracted the more contentious aspects of his "economic update" but still, the wheels were put in motion.

However, I don't approve of this proposed coalition government. Regardless of the parliamentary peccadillos that may allow this to hapen it is clear to me that the Canadian people voted, and wanted to vote, for a Conservative minority. I have my reservations about Harper, but I thought, upon reflection, that Harper was a better leader than Dion. Not easy for me, since I backed Dion in his leadership bid (in spirit--I'm not a member of a political party).

As much fun as it is to watch the COnseravtives' heads explode--and it is indeed fun--we are talking about the governance of Canada as a nation, not fun and games. I hope the coaltion will relinquish its ambition once offered some concessions by the Conservatives. Thta's the best cae scenario for me. If not, I trust the Governor-General will make the correct decision and call an election.

I hardly think the joining of the NDP, Bloc, and Libs could really
be construed as a viable majority party. Dion as PM? I'd rather poke
my eyes out with a red hot spike.

Just like a bunch of lemmings they all cry "where's the bailout money"
as if printing a bunch of dough is going to fix it. Typical socialist
BS.

Screw this! If this crap goes through I am going Western separation all
the way and I won't be going quietly.

And I will be joining you, bringing my National Socialism with me.

yes, I'm sure that will help. Once the people know the National Socialists are enageged, they'll be flocking to the cause.

Not possible, since so many have been so drowned in liberalism they wouldn't know National Socialism if it bet them in the balls.

I would not bet my balls on it. WOULD YOU? 8O

A coalition would be fine, if they had campaigned on it.

An economic update that said "we're gonna do squat for the economy until February, but we're gonna take away the Liberals' lifeline and public secror employees' right to strike at the first opportunity" would also have been fine if they had campaigned on it, but they didn't.

They were plotting 4 weeks prior to this 'statement', now we all know that from the taped conference call that a Tory was invited to.

The NDP have actively courted a party who's main aim is to destroy our Federation and they were looking for ANY excuse. This looks really bad on Layton and the NDP will pay an electoral price for this backroom dealing, be it 'parliamentary' or not, it just looks sneaky and underhand.

The supposed comments made by Layton post the economic statement were obviously just more bullshit. He has been looking for ANY opportunity to enact his quisling like plot with the Bloc.
The NDP should be holding it's collective head down in shame.

Oh, so you want an election because your party lost? You DO realise that, if there were another election today, the Conservatives would win... again? What is it you people smoke when your mommies are not looking? You wish us to waste a further $300 million because YOU and your pinko ilk are unhappy?

Gee, it would probably come as a surprise to pretty much here at CKA that I'm a pinko.

Compared to me, EVERYONE's a pinko. After all, I am a national socialist. A fascist of the highest order. I am not blinded by socialist idiotic dogma.

Your just another uneducated plonker with red writing. Very silly now run along and play with all the mongs.

That's not fair. It should be clear that Robert Mugabe is obviously economically more intelligent than anyone in the NDP has ever been
