Too bad we probably won't here to much about it on the news. Funny you should say that especially since this thread was started by a news link to CTV...I'm sure it'll be buried in minute 2 of their national news coverage. Hmmph, minute 5 of "The National" and no mention yet. I'll keep you updated. 16 minutes, still notta 28 minutes still nothing but there is a good story on about "Boomer" the lost lion. ..........political panel.............. oh I guess we're on to Rex now so that pretty much wraps it up. I guess that concludes our little socail experiment. I'll go check Duffy and see if he's talking about this bill. Nope, nothin there either. No video on CTV either. I guess I'll just have to be happy with the 9 paragraph write up.
I guess Ed Stelmach claiming that wind turbines killing 30,000 birds in one year is worse than 1 toxic pool killing 500 ducks in one night bumped it. I hear he's getting up early tomorrow to race down some rural highways to see how many birds he can kill so he has another statistic to use to shrug off the massacre. Ed says those birds were on the way to their nesting ground so no ducklings have been orphaned to become wards of the province saving the taxpayers millions of dollars....

Hey Ripcat *points to the floor* the topic is over here.
Like I mentioned, not much mention of a good bill put forward by the Conservatives but there was that good story about the Boomer lost lion. You should check it out.

I don't watch CBC news, too biased...
Anyways, I don't see that they changed much, grade 11 boys are still free to knock up grade 8 girls....

Freakinoldguy Freakinoldguy: xerxes xerxes: ridenrain ridenrain: Nope. The Libs would rather enable child prostitutes than restrict them. (That's one for you: xerxes) Here's a broad message to every CPC supporter here from me: For the last little while (especially since Dion was elected LPC leader), I had seriously considered voting for the Tories whenever the next election comes. Yea, like that was ever going to happen. If you haven't got a thick enough skin to shrug off one rude comment then you definately wouldn't fit in voting for the Conservative party.
I'm being completely serious.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: What's funny is that I know this law will be ignored by every teenager in this country. Just another law to add to our Broken List, This isn't a law brought in to crack down on teenagers and young people having sex. It was brought in to give the courts more power to prosecute adults who choose to have sex with minors.

Here's a broad message to every CPC supporter here from me: For the last little while (especially since Dion was elected LPC leader), I had seriously considered voting for the Tories whenever the next election comes. I don't care for the NDP anymore and the Liberals seem to be a shambles at the moment as well. BUT, due the insane rhetoric, their constant denial of reason, logic, and plain common sense, I will NEVER consider voting for the Tories if their supporters here are representative of their party.
and people like Kenmore and Shadowsweet will help keep your vote WITH the Liberal party

OKay...so I think this is a great common sense move by the tories. My only issue with it is the Tories should have taken the opportunity of ammending the Age of Consent to bring anal sex (18) in comformity to 16.
Having 2 separate ages and one that unfairly targets gay males is descriminatory in my opinion.

There are two different ages? I didn't know that. I was about to ask you what the age is but now that I've qouted you I see it's 18, or at least that's what it looks like, is that correct?

$1: Whats the maximum cutoff age? Arthritis is setting in but I sure don't want to get prostate cancer. $1: Study: Masturbation May Prevent Prostate Cancer Wednesday, April 23, 2008
:
Men who frequently masturbate appear to have a lower risk of developing prostate cancer, Australian researchers reported.
Researchers from the Cancer Council of Victoria found that men who masturbated more than five times each week were one-third less likely to develop the cancer. The study surveyed 1,000 men who developed prostate cancer and 1,250 who did not, and all were between the ages of 20 and 50, according to a report on Monday on the gay and lesbian news site PlanetOut.
Exercise is good for you?

Actually there is a solid basis for this. from time to time I ride down to the windfarm on Lake Erie and not once have I failed to see a shithawk reduced to a shower of feathers in those huge cuisine-arts. Dump-chickens are not one of my fabvourite critters.
