You mean Dell? That had absolutely nothing to do with the oilpatch. Maybe you should have watched it on the news.

Yea, I mean Dell, and yea, it had almost everything to do with the oilpatch. Everything has everything to do with the oilpatch in Alberta. You can't even get a burger at the drive through sometimes because of staffing issues, because everyone's off working in the oilpatch. Housing prices are going through the roof ebcause of the oilpatch. Construction projects getting ridiculously expensive because of the job competition from the oilpatch, and we're not touching the brakes.

That you can't see this would be funny if it weren't so unbelievably ignorant.

Maybe if you were out looking for a job in the early 80's or the early 90's you would see things differently.

You have lived in good times would you like to see the bad?

I wonder who's dumb idea this was

"It also comes less than three years after the city lured the call centre with economic concessions."

What was so dumb about trying to entice tech companies to come in? We need diversity.

A call center....tech company [huh]

It tried to drain wal-mart and McDs of employees.

Maybe if you had to go out and buy a house today you'd see things differently. Good is a relative term, and a four letter word.

Its still more expensive to buy a house in many other parts of the country....where the economy sucks.

You whine because everything is not "perfect" in Alberta.....suck it up pansy or hit the road.

You own a house and have a job, relatively new car?..not enough... you deserve more right?why?

I worked my ass off since I was in junior high school and I never qualified for a mortgage until I was 29.

You're 27, have you ever really had to look for a job? and not have a choice over which one you want?

Maybe a slow down that you keep wishing for will make you see it differently. careful what you wish for.

Well, nice try to blame Alberta for this but when it comes down to you or the president of Dell coming down with an explanation I'll believe the guy from Dell.

Actually it does. There are 22 places in Canada more affordable than Edmonton. And remember, this is median income to median house price, so just because the economy might be "better" here than there doesn't factor in.
