Ok. I'll toss in my $0.02 on the derogatory terms about women. I'm certainly not speaking on behalf of women in general, just me.

Oddly enough the term "broad" doesn't bother me much at all. Guess I haven't had it directed at me in a negative feeling way often.

To me, bitch is pretty much the equivalent of asshole for men, and can be offensive, depending on the situation, which can sometimes justify it being used.

The one term that does offend me pretty much anytime is c**t. I really dislike it and rarely have used it myself unless some bitch takes it a step further.

Working in a service type job that I have it does irk me when men I don't know call me "sweetheart" or "honey" as it comes across as condescending, putting-me-in-my-place sort of thing. I wear ID so they can see my name and are welcome to address me by it. Usually I ignore it but sometimes (depending on my mood) I'll respond with "ok sweetums" or the equivalent since I know most men hate those sappy pet names. Gets the point across.

"Broad" isn't meant to be derogatory, even if some take it that way. Bitch is though. What I said earlier in the thread and the reaction to his comment just shows how Alberta is turning into a bunch of Whiny Politically Correct C***s that has nothing to do with the NDP as it's been happening for years. Got that right. Let's assume for a minute that the new alt-right is the replacement for burnt-out Reagan conservatism. Focusing on someone like Trump as it's defacto leader could bury it as a movement right from the beginning. This is not good because Trump's just a bombastic salesman, with some kind of mental issue like a combination of narcissism and small-man syndrome. He talks like that because he's just gimmicking the situation from minute to minute as it develops. That's why he says one thing one minute to toss red meat to conservatives but then backtracks from it a day leader. For the alt-right there'll be no forward momentum with Trump because he doesn't believe in anything. He's just a button-pusher saying wacky crap to get a rise from the crowd and to build up his image even more. There is quite literally nothing there at all, certainly not a real leader of nascent political movement that has the potential to satisfy the needs of those who have clearly been abandoned by traditional conservatism.
