And how explain how the tipping point for people is having a half black president?

Because for many years each group has been conditioned to only trust their own group. When the leader becomes someone from a group they don't trust, weak minds default to their conditioning.

That's the only reason I can think of.

As I say, they're in for a rude shock when it turns out all us white bread Canadians are raving socialists without guns.

Most of it is just blowing off steam. I hope. We don't need those loonies up here.

Agree with you there. But I do think some of them are very serious about thier racism. As the Canada Party said today; "the ones who believe the Founding Fathers drove Monster Trucks".

We're 83% white, you're 77. Not a big diff. And how explain how the tipping point for people is having a half black president?

Actually correction, we're less than 83% since that was based on 1/6 being visible minority. Natives are not classed visible minority, yet certainly have never been described as white.

Plus all the girls say we're pretty fly (for white guys).

The US just proved that to be more than a rumour! :)

Move to Canada ? Not a chance - you've got no palm trees and it's cold. . .

Actually, we have palm trees on southern Vancouver Island.

Cold I can deal with - hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, Tornado Alley and all the rest are far worse IMHO.

Yep. I like the warm weather as much as the next guy but you can always dress warm and shovel the snow out of the way. Not much you can do when a hurricane or earthquake decide to visit your neighborhood. :lol:

Yeah. It's not as close as I thought it would be.

Interesting things as well. The first openly lesbian senator has been elected from Wisconsin. Marijuana prohibition is over on Washington state and Colorado. And marriage equality has been passed by popular referendum in a few states as well. America isn't as dysfunctional as we think it is.

Not to mention the rape apologist's all got trounced too;

Yes, it was good news indeed. Then only :cry: from the House and Senate races is that crazy Michelle Bachman kept her seat which astounds me. Even if I were a Republican, I would be embarrassed that someone like that would be my representative in Congress.

I always wonder what kind of cretins live in that district that think she deserves to have her job.
