Brenda Brenda:
I haven't heard anyone talk about "Library". Does anyone go there anymore?

Our local library loans ebooks. My sister and mom both use that service with their ebooks. You get them for 14 days, then it just deletes off the unit. As long as you have a valid library card you can get them.

herbie herbie:
Want to read Book 5 of Game of Thrones. $20 for digital. Or $6 more for a fat hardcover physical book I can hold in my hand and give or trade when I'm done. Hell if I wait until spring it will be a fat paperback for $8 in Costco.
Sticking to $1.99 specials and freebies on the iPad.

That's because of the big six publishing companies - they think that even though distribution & manufacturing costs are essentially ZERO with e-books that you should still pay the same price as a hard copy book.

Both Amazon and Smashwords have lots of cheap e-books written by great authors. Best of all, if you buy a book from an author there, they can actually make MORE than they would have if they had gone the traditional publishing route (because both offer up to 70% royalties as opposed to the 15-30% publishing companies give).
