Everyone's worried about the 'radical' people from the CPC coming out when it's the NDP and Liberals that have had a hard time keeping a lid on their own.

Well we all know that the Conservatives will eventually have a gaff of some sort. It's just inevitable.

If people want something to be scared of they should look to the next election. The Conservatives will fall sooner or later, that’s just the nature of politics in this country. Unless the Liberals can get their act together we might be facing the prospect of a NDP government at some point in the future. That to me is far scarier.

I'm sure there will be lots more where this is coming from. I bet two thirds of these candidates weren't expected to win by either Jack or the candidates themselves.

I also bet that a lot of the candidates were not scrutinised in the same way the Lib or CPC candidates were, as in background checks etc.

This is going to be an interesting four years!

Me, I'm always scared about what's happening on Parliament Hill, no matter what political party is running the show.

I voted NDP, and I'm not so worried about about the glitches that are going to come acorss the first little while. Same thing happened with RTefomr. However one of the the unfortunate side effects of being afflicted reactionary-right-wing-itis is a memory that doesn't go back further than four months.

Totally different circumstances. Lying about who shined your pole (which ought to be none of the American people's business to begin with) is clearly not comparable to addressing the nation about a military operation and international incident. Nope, "Not in the same league, not even the same goddamn sport," as Samuel L. Jackson once opined.

WMD. That's game, set and match (to stick with the sports analogy) in three letters.

No doubt in my mind that Osama's dead. UI think what they tried to originally tried to hide was that it was simply an assassination. And because they started lying rightoff the bat, then it seems to me a fitting punsihment to have to deal with the foilers now.

What does this have to do with Canada and/or the NDP deputy leader making an ass of himself?

I agree. We Canadians are a far different breed than the Yank right. This is the Deputy Leader of the NDP making this foiler type comments.

Come on Zip, this isn't a partisan thing where we drag up right vs left from the US to Australia, going back to the Boer War.

This is yesterday, with the latest version of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition in Canada and it's Deputy Leader saying that the US President is telling porkie pies without any foundation.

It was already said but Mulcair is not a rookie in politics at all. He won 3 elections for the Liberal party of Quebec (1994, 1998 and 2003) and 3 for the NDP (2006, 2008 and 2011). That's 17 years in politics.

Not really much to worry about when you throw your support behind a 3rd rate party without any expectations they'll do anything.

I for one believe the official story, but I must admit understanding the idea that bin Laden is still alive; in custody, but alive. Dead men tell no tales, and I'm sure the U.S. wants al-Quaeda to think their secrets are still safe.

I'm not sure what the official story is anymore,

I think, just for the sake of tactics, that arresting him would have been better for the Americans. I'm sure he wouldn't be very helpful, but it'd have to be more helpful than a corpse. He's just a human being - he's not any more 'dangerous' than anyone else can be so I don't think that killing him immediately was the 'best' approach to this. Effective, certainly. Some information may be gone forever though.

Perhaps the Americans figured he had nothing special in his little head.

As long as his body, dead or alive, is in custody, the rest is unimportant. It would have been nice to see him in a Manhattan courtroom though.

It would be nice to see The Holy Islamic Warrior laid out on an Autopsy slab, Perhaps wiki leaks can leak the photos. Outside of that it is time to move on with life and drop this excessive ghoulish fascination with OBL. I'm quite a ghoul myself and when I say something is ghoulish that means its getting grotesque.

Bravo and a job will done to the SEALs, but for the rest of us lets get back to normal things.
