I had a summer job once where I had to track and kill a beaver occassionally. This I did. I did not trap the beaver and then bring it back to my place and kill it slowly, photographing it for posterity.

I don't know. I'm thinking Zip would at least poke the beavers with a stick once in a while. He can be pretty malicious, you know. All that 'zen' stuff being just a cover for his true identity.

Perhaps if Obama where to go on TV telling them that they must get civilized and kill her preferably by stoning or the US Marines will Install, after Israeli air strikes, Mohammed Reza as the new Shah they might get so pissed off that they will free her.

I've been known to poke a beaver occasionally.

How about just eliminating the death penalty altogether? This fine distinction between methods of execution, one deemed barbaric, the other perfectly civilized escapes me.

Even if she's not stoned or other wise executed, if her sentence is commuted to a long jail sentence it's just as bad. Good chance she'll die in prison from being tortured or raped, or just being locked up in a coffin-like cell.

Or murdered by her family after she's released to assuage their honour...

My thought exactly on this issue.

The only people in this case that needs to worry about their honor are the Iranian judges. Will they do the honorable thing and release her? or are they going to be a bunch of medieval savages?
