Prior to the 1900's....

Even today. Do you know that the Vatican's science advisor believes in creation but also considers evolution to be a valid fact?

RUEZ RUEZ:
But did that self regulation get put into place before the listeriosis outbreak?

Here's what the Canadian Medical Journal Association editorial says: http://www.cmaj.ca/cgi/rapidpdf/cmaj.081477v2.pdf

Also, as of four months prior to the outbreak, companies were no longer required to alert the Canaidan Food Inspection Agency about listeria tainted meat.

If it's indeed true, he's a complete moron and an intellectual coward. Only uneducated dregs would justify his stance and his refusal to even qualify his noncommittal position

Why should he answer a personal question from a biased media intent only on reaching new heights of "gotcha" journalism?

The minister didn't handle this well but this is just another manufactured scandal by a biased media.

This is strange that all the folks demanding the separation of church and state are now demanding this man be fired because of his religious beliefs.
Crass politics indeed.

When is the press going to start asking "when did you stop beating you're wife?"
.. or are they saving that one for the election.

Science minister ends evolution brouhaha

$1:
The Canadian Press

March 17, 2009 at 5:35 PM EDT

OTTAWA — Canada's Science Minister has cut short a brewing controversy over his views on evolution.

Gary Goodyear raised eyebrows when he refused to tell The Globe and Mail newspaper if he believes in the science of evolution.

But the Minister of State for Science and Technology flatly said today that he does indeed believe in evolution.

Mr. Goodyear said he refused to answer Tthe Globe question because it was “irrelevant” and his beliefs have nothing to do with government policy.

A spokesman for Prime Minister Stephen Harper stressed that creationism is not part of the federal science agenda.

Mr. Goodyear has been under fire lately over budget cuts that have left researchers across the county scrambling to find the money to continue their experiments.

This seems like a modern day lynching by atheists to me. So what if he believes in Adam & Eve or the primordial ooze. Fact remains he was a succesfull and competent chiropracter before becoming the Science Minister and hasn't had any problems with that until he had to make some cuts.

I hope he never answers the question, because its no ones business and has no bearing on whether or not he can do the job.

Yes those damn dirty atheists again making him confess he subscribes to evolution, I think the guy is an ass because he tried to shift to the blame to the states saying they cut science funding more than Canada did. Like that has a bearing on anything...

Proculation Proculation:
Most famous scientists believed in God.

They also understand and accept evolution. this has nothing to do with a belief in God. If the Science minister can't answer a question about Science then he isn't doing his job.

I really hate to needle this issue, but chiropractors are, more often than not, religious whackos who love shoving more propaganda pamphlets into your hand with every visit. If you have a problem with your back, you should see a physiologist, not a chiropractor.

Come on ride, if he was minister of highways, or even finance minister his denial of evolution would not make any difference. He is however "science minister." This makes a difference. It would be like having someone in as minister of transport who thought automobiles should be banned.

I don't like chiropractors either but that's not a reason why he's unqualified either.

Again, when is the press going to break out the "when did you stop beating you're wife" questions?
