I dont agree Red_Eye.. even after the quiet revolution Catholicim is still the foundation of Quebec.. if you were to take a survey of people in Quebec.. ie of french heritage they would still support the idea of the Crucifix being kept in Legislature..

Ken, I'm french Canadian and ok I never took a survey but from my surroundings they don't give a damn. Religion is one thing politics is another. The youth today can't and won't be bothered with such symbolisms. Little by little religion is on its way out to the french here. Churches are closing down and sold. I don't think they will hold on to a cross in a government hall for much longer in the future. Besides I don't really care. Morality is not a monopoly of the religious. Logic compassion and fore thought are the essential of good judgement not a prayer.

Charest, ridiculously, has defended the crucifix in the Quebec legislature only as a patrimonial object, not a religious one.
