I'm concerned about people insulting others out of ignorance

Isn't that what most of this message board is about?

Don't be so quick to jump on your high horse and assume I never read the article. The article contains references to the temps across Ontario, those were the points I made reference to you. If you don't like my comments don't read them.
That doesn't change the fact that the alert serves specifically to boost services available to the homeless.

Oh, and I'll read whatever I want, and post whatever I want.

Oh yeah? Well, I'm gonna make paper airplanes and throw them in your direction, and if you don't move out of the way and they hit you it's not my fault.

Are we going to go through this all over again?

Cold weather alerts are for homeless people.

Get a clue.

Which they watch on their corrugated TVs in the west wing of their Maytag mansions. I always thought that they were largely issued for the elderly and those with health problems like asthmatics.

It's not global warming per se. It's global climate change if you are to believe it. Some places in the world will get warmer, some wetter, some cooler and some drier.

One thing I have noticed is some folks say they would never give any spare change to a homeless person as he/she may spend it on drugs. They live in a cardbord box or less, what do people think they will spend the change on? New curtains for the kenmore appliance box?

I would only hope they spend it on something that gets them through one more night.

I'm not laughing at the homeless you congnitively challenged appliance plug. I was pointing out that these alerts for the homeless are pointless as very few have access to TV weather reports. Being out in the cold is all the notice they have.

And before you blather on about understanding hardships, maybe you should know a bit more about the person you're addressing. I've worked in places with people who've experienced a level of poverty and hopelessness that makes what we call 'poor' in Canada seem as wealthy as Midas.

The CBC article isn't the alert, nor is it intended for the homeless - the alert goes out to shelters, etc, who take extra measures to ensure homeless people get taken in.

Here in Southern Ontario the lower limits are -20F (-28C approx). I recall those in the 50's, 60's and the allegedly balmy 90's. Without fail every January brings a bit of 0 weather.(Fahrenheit)

Currently 0 F (-18C) here. No wind (Allah be praised). Dog went out and was patrolling for about 30 minutes. Yesterday/last night with the wind, 2 minutes max. Correction 1 dog the other is still crop touring.....

Global warming is such a disappointment..........
Yes bring on the ninja's----my edged weapons collection is always open to new exhibits.

Edit: Me bad.....the AWOL dog was already in the house laying beside the stove......

Nor do you or your hero DION. The minor warming ended in 1998---ten years back.

Yeah I heard about that. GW was falling into disrepute so they cleverly came up with fresh BS. Because climate is always in a state of flux...the alarmist envirofreaks invented "climate change"......that way anything/everything became proof of our need to allow them to rule us. Only one problem there has never really been a stable climate 2 years in a row. Just more BS.

I don't know. I agree that there is a climate shift and that human generated pollution(thank you China and India) is exacerbating and intensifying a natural phenomena.

However, that being said, I believe patterns will eventually stabilize, just maybe not in our lifetime or that of our children. We're going to have to learn to live with chaotic transitional period as best we can.

The enire conveyor current disruption scenario would dramatically curtail any of the effects of global warming for instance. More snow in the northern hemisphere means more heat will be reflected back into space and the arctic ice sheets will return with a fury with the cooling sea temperatures. The Arctic's warming trend will be less than brief.
