BRAH BRAH:
Snowden revelations.

Long before Showden there was a supected operation called "Carnivore". People looked a the deliberate way that underseas cables had been laid out, and saw they came in and out at specific points in the US and that virtually every undersea cable worldwide ran through just a few points in the US. This made interception much easier as communication was centralized physically.

Also see:

Room 641A

I remember that well.

Here in Edmonton, when they built the new K Division RCMP building, I thought it was odd that AGT (Alberta Government Telephones) and Ed Tel ran the main trunk for all phone lines right under the building. [huh]

Then I read bout Room 641a.

Another reason why I don't care for Assange.

WikiLeaks will share CIA hacking tools with tech companies: Julian Assange

So, he's perfectly willing to release information in it's entirety even thought it contains personal information on people who ultimately lose privacy because they are 'doxxed' - but he balks at releasing the hacking tools that might bring the internet to it's knees?

Pussy! XD

You have exactly as much privacy as you claim for yourself.

I regularly check for my own name on the Internet, and so far never find it. :)

When I worked in telecommunications I gained much information about surreptitious data gathering.
Every major city in England has a "secret' underground comms installation, these are enormous and were originally constructed in the event of nuclear war.

I have no doubt that in later years these became data gathering centers.

In 1985 I was given a tour of one of the centers, it was mind boggling. Nearly every telephone exchange in the area had "secret" access to the installation. You can imagine what these places are like today.

See kids, you'll never feel alone ever again.

The CIA is with you every step of the way.

The CIA knows how much porn they watch on dad's IPad. 8O

Interesting and cool, there's also the well known Echelon program.

Lol I'm pretty fucked for that, kinda tied myself into the whole "communist" thing pretty deeply, especially in 2011. Just googling some communist stuff like "hammer and sickle" will come up with images that lead back to my name pretty quickly.

Hell, the other day I just found two photos of me I didn't know existed from 2011 while hanging out with the local communists, linked right to my name 8O

My name is also linked to this site and account, spouted off my name plenty 2006-2009

It's all downhill for me from here

I hilariously had to google myself for a class. Using different google search techniques to try and find people apparently is an important thing.

I got nothing. So I got that going for me which is nice.

That's good. Wish I had some sort of basic security culture.

If I remember correctly, we have the same first name, I think?

Fuck if I remember.
