It's a different kind of intelligence. Lefties tend to be intelligent in terms of literature, communications, and the arts. Righties tend to be intelligent in terms of spatial awareness, planning and execution, understanding of causal relationships, and etc.

Righties also tend to apply life experience to situations better than lefties do.

But if you're only measuring the intelligence it takes to perceive the societal commentary inherent in a blank canvas that hangs in an art gallery then, no, we're not so intelligent.

However, if you're measuring the intelligence it takes to realize that hanging a blank canvas in an art gallery is foolishness in the extreme then, yes, we are.

Back in the 80's I passed the Mensa exams (pass, minimum IQ of 146). Then went to my first (and last) meeting, boy what a laugh.
Not one ounce of common sense from those I met. they just sat and talked of how bright they were.

I did the same thing. Hate to say but it led me to suspect that if these people all passed the same test I did then they couldn't be all that intelligent after all.
