Who said anything about war?

If not diplomacy, what's the other option?

Trying to be diplomatic with Iran is like trying to juggle sawdust. Keep the sanctions in place until they realise nuclear weapons are not the answer.

Except the sanctions weren't stopping them. YOu need a stick and a carrot.

Look for Iran to have one heck of an economic boom period. Talking to a young lady from Iran last night and she was very happy about the sanctions lifting. She claimed it was drying up businesses and many, including her fathers, had shut down.

Now here's my question lets say a year from now Iran is found to be in violations of the agreement. What should/would we do?

As soon as any violation of the agreement is found, the agreement has provisions that the sanctions are immediately reinforced. No need to wait a year. ;)

And if the sanctions are put back in place, I think the mullahs will have a problem on their hands with the population that has come to know the new prosperity. Ie there will be a lot of pressure on them not to dick about.

Iran will develop a nuclear bomb just the same as North Korea did. The only question will be whether they'll use it to attack Israel first or if they'll attack Saudi Arabia first.

Can't help but notice that all you guys against this deal are the same ones that thought invading Iraq was such a great idea. Don't you ever learn?

Then why do you think that Iran, a long time compatriot of North Korea, will be more trustworthy?

Here's a convo I can see playing out.

Hey N. Korea I'm cutting my nuke program by around 90% and I'll get rich as F**K doing it. When I got a few billion can I buy some nukes from you. This way you can get the money you want and we still the nukes we want.

N. Korea's reply: Hell F'ing Yes!

Strawman. I have never stated that Iran is trustworthy. Neither is the US for that matter. My point is that invading Iraq to prevent the us of WMD turned out to be one of the largest foreign policy debacles and human rights disasters of this century. So, given that experience, it makes sense that we should try an avenue besides invasion, and multi-lateral binding agreements seem a good way to start.

The lack of spot inspections is the part that concerns me.

Nothing ever is but this is a HUGE glaring omission.
